Who can go? Is is just for kids with LD?

Heavens, no! The Summer Sunshine Day Camp is for boys and girls, 7 - 11 years old (7 - 12 years old in Regina), that want to spend a summer with other kids but sleep in their own bed at night.

What do they do?

Mornings:

The campers will work with an accredited teacher doing fun activities where informal academics will be incorporated.  This may be in the form of games involving some reading, writing or math.  The campers will also be given scheduled computer, story and craft time.  Somewhere during the morning a nutritious snack will be supplied.

Afternoons:

Afternoons are set aside for fun in the city.  The campers go swimming, hiking, bowling, picnicking, going to special events and exploring what the city has to offer.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Summer Sunshine Camp is not an academic camp.  One of the goals is to incorporate some academics without formal instruction.  The other goal is to give the kids an opportunity to play and spend time with new found friends.

*Parents interested in intense remedial intervention for their child should contact LDAS regarding the Summer ABSee Reading Program, 652-4902
