Destination Employment
Destination Employment or DE is a job readiness program designed to help adults with learning disabilities understand their disability and to learn strategies in choosing a suitable career in order to sustain employment.
Criteria: Participants must:
- be 18 or older
- unemployed
- not attending any kind of secondary or post-secondary education
- ready and willing to work with a career counsellor, job placement supervisor and any other professional that they might recommend to provide job readiness
The DE program will provide:
- a complete learning disability assessment (if you don’t already have one)
- the assistance of a personal career counsellor for an 8 week self directed program.
- Disscusions covering topics regarding employment and learning disabilities.
- a supervised 4—8 week work placement.
